Pinky T

Brief: To create packaging for grapefruit peel that has been dried up and added to reusable teabags to be diffused into hot water. This product has been curated by the Food, Science and Technology department and they have asked for designs of both a 10cm x 10cm x 4cm pull box and a pouch for loose leave that can then be used in the reusable teabags.

Idea: I designed this net for the Pinky T brand with the intention for the main illustration to be embossed. The idea was to focus on the emotions that can be elicited from the customer and how through the use of grounding techniques, tracing the raised areas can relax customer in order to generate as sense of calmness before you even drink tea, as through my primary research I discovered that the majority of people questioned, drink tea ‘to relax’.

Outcome: The direct link between the two designs makes it very clear to customers that these to items are intended to be bought either together or consecutively. The illustration of a teabag makes references the packagings contents directly as it’s filled with tea leaves to refil the teabags, while the teacup illustration very much does the same thing for the other product.
